The old girl left us on the 2nd March when we picked up the new girl.

She was very well looked after and other than a scuff on the rear passenger side bumper and a couple of kerb marks on a couple of wheels she was pristine after three years service and 16,283 miles.

The day she arrived back on the 1st March 2013.

The 1st March 2016 (the day before the new girl arrived).

((those mats in the boot are mats for the new car from the Czech Republic)) the old ones were fully cleaned and left with the car as was the umbrella.

She’s not had any issues at all other than a blown bulb in the rear passenger side light cluster.

If you want her and happen to live in or near Winsford, Somerset she’s a 2013 Superb S spec, 1.4 TSi, 125ps, 16,283 miles on the clock and the dealership wants £9,799.

I hope the new owners enjoy her and care for her like we did.

Aww, that’s very sweet and she looks great. I was, however, in awe that you only put 16k miles on her in three years? I have had my newest one now for five years and he’s going on 125k. Anyhow, I cried when I traded in my previous one for it. The dealer even said ‘you would be amazed how people feel about their trade in, some even cry’. Apparently that dealer wasn’t expecting me to start crying a few moments later.

It was a bit of a tear jerker when she left but I got too enthralled in the new car to dwell on it.

Ye’, she had a few blasts up and down the country but it was mostly to and from work or about the town and bimonthly trips up the road (20 miles) to clean a friend’s car but she was used every day.

Friend had the same car (but diesel) and it did about the same as yours in three years as a hot seat taxi between two drivers.

Your old wagon was good looking but not as much as your new ride. Fortunately unlike wives, we can change our cars more frequently. Too many cars to love, so little time.

So true, though I’ve been single for some time now. There are so many cars out there I want especially classic cars but unfortunately I don’t have the financial backing to support my tastes.

I was gutted at the time back in 2013 as the facelifted Superb was released a month after picking the old girl up, so effectively out dated a month after she arrived.

The facelifted car got a new front and rear end to ease in the Mk3s looks I guess.

This is a pretty big car for the UK. I was joking around with a Scottish friend of mine (I live in California but spend time in the UK each year / am there now) and he mentioned how big my Lancer is. In the US, it’s a midsize ish (just barely). No one in the US would ever say that it’s big.

The Mk2 and Mk3 are both VW Passat, Audi A6 and Ford Mondeo/Fusion size but Skoda seem to make the interior more spacious while even increasing the boot size.

To British and European drivers they are large but by U.S. standards I guess ye’, they’d be classed as mid-size especially next to some vehicles you have pounding the asphalt over there.
